The Betel School - Lunch Program

The Lunch Program

  • Thank YOU.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for standing faithfully by our side over the years and supporting our work in Guinea-Bissau.
Whether you help us through prayer or financial contributions – every form of support is of great value, and we truly believe it makes a difference in the lives of the people living there.

We are especially grateful for the tuition, food, and construction support we have received this year.
We give thanks that we have already collected the necessary amount for the first of the three trimesters, allowing the school cafeteria to reopen!
This is a tremendous joy for both the children and the teachers – as for many of them, it means their only hot meal of the day.

  • Build it.

At the beginning of the year, together with a local team led by one of our volunteers, we cleared the site designated for the future sports hall.

We leveled and prepared an area of 3,000 square meters, replaced the top layer of soil, and completed 26 foundation points on which the hall will eventually be built.

This was the first significant step toward creating a place where children can play sports, take part in community programs, and find new opportunities to rise above hopelessness and the environment of drugs and child prostitution.

Through sports, young people can also become more involved in school life.

And most importantly—the very reason we do all this—is so that they can hear the truth every day: about God’s love and Christ’s redeeming work.

We are deeply grateful that we can be part of this mission even from Hungary.

Now, with the next dry season approaching, we have begun organizing the second phase of construction.

  • Grow it.

Our goal over the next few months is to complete the foundation and underground work, as well as the concrete work, and to prepare everything for next year, when the steel structure components will arrive from Europe.
If everything goes according to plan, the assembly of the hall can begin next year.

According to our schedule, the first volunteer team from Hungary is set to depart on January 22, 2026, followed by the next team on February 5, who will continue the planned work together with the local crew.
If you feel called to participate in this ministry—even through physical labor—we would be delighted to welcome you to the volunteer teams, as there are still spots available.

If you are interested in the details, please feel free to contact us!

The total budget for the second phase is 38 000 USD, of which approximately 30% has been raised so far.
